Parents may enroll their incoming kindergarten child for the 2017-2018 school year at Joplin Schools at the school where they will attend beginning August 1, 2017.

To be eligible for kindergarten enrollment, children must turn five years old before August 1.
What should I bring? Please bring the following items with you:
- Current immunization record
- State birth certificate
- Proof of residency
- Parent/Guardian's drivers license or photo ID
- Proof of guardianship (if applicable)
- Child's Social Security card (optional)
Kindergarten screenings are required for all children entering kindergarten at Joplin Schools. Screenings help to determine a child’s readiness for kindergarten and include hearing, speech, motor skills, and general school readiness skills. Joplin Schools Parents as Teachers provides free kindergarten screenings. Parents may schedule their child’s kindergarten screening by contacting the Parents as Teachers office at Memorial Education Center, 417-625-5200 x. 2011. The screening takes approximately one hour and will be conducted May 1 - June 30.
