Curriculum Instructional Technologists (CIT)

Curriculum Instructional Technologists from each building are chosen to work with Technology Specialists on curriculum projects that integrate technology, introduce and support new hardware/software to building staff, and to be key participants in the text book adoption and implementation process in evaluating technology components associated with potential series. The teacher that takes the initiative to participate in the program will receive the technology tools needed to teach his/her fellow teachers.

The CIT program is a support pillar in the district-wide iTEK program. In accordance with the district -wide iTEK initiative the following details should be noted by teachers considering this excellent program:

  • Are involved in the technology adoption process for textbooks and curriculum in general
  • Aid as assistants to other teachers in training them on new software, hardware, etc. based on curriculum adoptions
  • Select Videoconference Field Trips based on curriculum
  • Act as building/grade level/ and department liaisons for instructional technology
  • Are supplied with the needed software and hardware to effectively "test" new initiatives
