Royal Heights Elementary Improvements 2025

Royal Heights Elementary Phase 1 Improvements

Overview

Royal Heights Elementary was originally constructed in 1933, making it one of Joplin Schools’ oldest campuses in use today. Additions were made 1953, 1965, and 1990, and the Safe Room/Gymnasium addition was constructed in 2014. The building currently houses students in PreK through 5th grades, and all Specials class spaces are shared with the library and gym. The Long Range Facility Committee notes that square footage per classroom and program currently falls well below state standard recommendations.
