The following data points are based on Spring 2024 results.

Enrollment

Grades K-12

This bar chart shows the total number of students we have had enrolled in kindergarten throug 12th grade each year since 2010. Our highest enrollment during this time period was 2011 when enrollment hit 7,785. Our lowest enrollment during this time period was in 2012, at 7,255. Since 2019, enrollment numbers have remained fairly stable outside of a slight dip in 2021 following COVID-19. 2023 enrollment was 7,540 students. Preschool enrollment numbers are not included in this report.

This chart represents the percentage of students who transfer in or out of Joplin Schools during an academic year. Since 2010, Joplin’s mobility rates are consistently above state and local averages. Preschool enrollment numbers are not included in this report.

Students who are eligible for Free/Reduced meals in 2023 represented about 61% of Joplin students. This rate has remained mostly steady from 2017 to present, with a high near 64% from 2017 to 2020, and a low of near 60% in 2021. Preschool enrollment numbers are not included in this report.
